School Administrators of South Dakota (SASD)

Professional Development Opportunities

The SASD Executive Board, upon the recommendation of the Professional Development Committee, implemented the Administrator Professional Development Award (APDA) program in 1985. SASD members become eligible for the APDA Certificate with the accumulation of 60 eligible hours. The APDA Program is an important recognition for South Dakota School Administrators.

It is an honor to ba a part of the process of selecting the SD Teacher Of The Year. It is always a tough choice to pick one from all the best. This year we honor Amanda Harris, a fourth grade teacher from the Endeavor Elementary School in Harrisburg. Congratulations Amanda

Rick Melmer is leading our Parent group Presidents and Vice-Presidents at our annual retreat. It is a short event but packed with great leadership nuggets. I appreciate everyone making the commitment to attend.
