Forrest Connors Loan Use Guidelines

The SDSSA has established a loan fund in memory of former AASA Executive Secretary Forrest Connors to assist members in furthering their education.

The following Guidelines have been established:

Applicants must be members of SDSSA and a practicing superintendent.

Applicants must specify in their applications what program they are planning to take and how their studies will help them in their careers as a superintendent.

Successful applicants will be given a no interest loan of $1,200.00, which must be paid

back no later than three years after receipt of the loan or when the recipient is no longer a member of SDSSA and/or a practicing superintendent in South Dakota .

Applications are to be sent to the secretary of SDSSA no later than April 1 in the year of the intended academic study.  Successful applicants will be notified no later than May 1.  A promissory note will be signed and money issued on or about June 1.  Due date on the note will be June 1 (three years later).

The maximum amount will be at the discretion of the Executive Committee.  It is hoped that we will keep it on a rotation so that we can issue a loan each year.  If there are no applications for one (1) year, we will offer two (2) the next year, one (1) for two (2) years and one (1) for three (3) years.

PROMISSORY NOTE

For value received, I promise to pay to the order of the SDSSA on or about June 1, ______, one thousand, two hundred dollars ($1,200.00) with no interest.  I promise to pay the above sum on demand of SDSSA if I am no longer a member of SDSSA and/or a practicing superintendent in South Dakota .
